Chemex and Hario Brewing Method

  • Just before brewing, Ground coffee beans to medium or coarse Grind.
  • Rinse pot with hot water to preheat
  • Rinse filter with a little bit of hot water
  • Put coffee ground into the filter (2 Tbsp per 6 oz of water)
  • Boil water and the water temperature at the time of contact with the coffee should be around 200°F (93.0°C) plus or minus 5°.
  • Add enough boiling water to saturates the ground
  • Wait for 45 seconds
  • After 45 sec. start adding gradually the rest of boiling water and let it drain into the pot
  • Discard/remove the filter and serve to enjoy
  • Avoid reheating coffee as it will dull the flavor. You can transfer the coffee to a thermos.
