elevate Your coffee moments

First let us learn how to make Espresso Coffee at home as a base for most of our coffee recipes.
There are several ways to make espresso at home without an espresso machine, checkout our two simple recipes.

Espresso Moka Pot Method

Instructions:
  • Fill the bottom chamber of a moka pot with boiling water to the fill line.
  • Place the filter basket into the bottom chamber and fill it with the coffee ground (don’t compact it).
  • Screw the top chamber onto the bottom chamber and place the moka pot on a stove over medium heat.
  • As the water in the bottom chamber heats up, it will start to boil and create pressure that forces the water up through the coffee grounds and into the top chamber, resulting in near espresso.
  • When the coffee has finished brewing (when you hear the very first bubbling), immediately remove the moka pot from the stove.

Espresso French Press Method

Instructions:
  • Bring a pot of water to a boil and let it cool for 30 seconds.
  • Add 1/2 cup of beans medium-fine ground coffee (36 grams) to the bottom of a French press.
  • Pour 3/4 cup + 2 Table spoons of hot water (205 grams) over the coffee grounds and stir.
  • Place the lid on the French press and let the coffee steep for about 4 minutes.
  • Slowly press down on the plunger of the French press to push the coffee grounds to the bottom of the carafe and separate the brewed coffee from the grounds.
  • Yield 2 double shots of Espresso.

Flat White Coffee Recipe

Instructions:
  • Brew one or two shots of espresso and pour them into a mug.
  • Using a milk frother, steam whole-milk until it reaches a creamy texture with small micro-foam bubbles.
  • OR heat the milk to a temperature of around around 140-150°F, or 60-65°C (shouldn’t be too hot as milk breaks down at 158°F, or 70°C ) then whip it to create froth. You can also use a French Press to froth the hot milk by moving the plunger up & down.
  • Pour the steamed milk into the mug with the espresso, holding back the foam with a spoon until the milk is poured in.
  • Spoon the foam on top of the milk, creating a smooth and velvety texture.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
  • Note: The key to making a great flat white is to have the right balance between espresso and milk, with the micro-foam on top giving it a silky texture. The milk should not be too hot, as it can ruin the flavor of the coffee.
